Croissance substantielle dans les recettes et le résultat opérationnel
Europe’s leading receivables management services group, Intrum Justitia, reports an increase of revenue for 2001. Revenue for the full year increased by 37 per cent to SEK 2,320.5 million (1,694.1). Of this increase, organic growth and currency fluctuations accounted for 11 percentage points, respectively. Dun & Bradstreet’s European RMS operations, which have been included in the consolidated results as of 1 May, 2001, accounts for 15 percentage points of the increase.Revenue growth was primarily attributable to the two largest service lines, Consumer Collection & Debt Surveillance and Commercial & International Debt Collection. Of the geographic regions, Belgium, Netherlands & Germany and Switzerland, Austria & Italy posted the largest increases in absolute terms, while the fastest relative growth was achieved in Poland, Hungary & Czech Rep. Scandinavia remained the largest region.
Operating profit (EBITA) increased by 28.0 per cent to SEK 383.7 million (299.8). The strong result arose mainly from the stable, mature Sweden, Norway & Denmark and Finland, Estonia & Lithuania regions, while higher personnel costs dampened results in Switzerland, Austria & Italy, and a shift in product mix hampered results in United Kingdom & Ireland.
The focus for the year 2001 has been on business integration as well as business and systems development. Integration of Dun & Bradstreet RMS business into Intrum Justitia has been completed in several countries and we are concentrating now on achieving synergies and deriving benefits from the acquisition. The continual development of Web applications has improved communication and reporting process to and from clients. Scoring and other methods have also improved the collection process.
The Intrum Justitia Group has maintained steady organic growth in the mature and well-established markets, such as Scandinavia, United Kingdom/Ireland and Finland/Estonia/Lithuania. The Dun & Bradstreet acquisition has strengthened Intrum Justitia’s position in most regions. Local markets are benefiting from economies of scale, while central projects, such as new services within the Receivables Management area, are being developed with mutually shared resources. Strategic acquisitions are being made in accordance with this strategy
